Got to hang out with these lovely ladies.
We all have our daily routines and morning rituals, as for me, it consists of waking up, brewing a fresh pot of coffee and watching the morning news with the wifey. In specific, we’ve religiously watched the Channel 3 news and our favorite news anchor has always been Jessica Moore.
So last week when I got an email from someone named Jessica Moore, I was taken back, and thought this customer may have shared the same name. Needless to say, it turns out that the email request was for a tattoo from Emmy Award winning news anchor Jessica Moore from Channel 3 – I was blown away.
Like any job, you’ve got your good days and bad days, and that day was definitely a memorable one for the history books. I’ll be honest, in years past, I’ve been approached by a bunch of celebrities to do tattoos and it’s never impressed me or got me star struck one bit.
I one time had a big time rapper come in with his loose change mentality and kindly refused to work with him, and just recently I had one homie come through talking about his hits, his fame, and of course in the end he started bargaining me down to scratcher rates so I had to kindly reject his offer.
But truth be told, when Jessica Moore came in to get a matching tattoo with her sister I was honored, humbled and downright nervous. I was nervous to a point where I was left without words.
It was a pleasure to be able to tattoo Jessica and her sister and I’m so thankful that they chose me to do their tattoos. Again, it’s one of those moments in time that marks a special occasion, and it’s great to be able to say that I met – and tattooed – my favorite news anchor now turned friend.
Keith Richards tattoo by Fernie Andrade
The latest tattoo by artist Fernie Andrade is heavy. The detail, the texture, the shading and the overall image is a powerful one which pays homage to the legendary Keith Richards.
This tattoo also serves as testament to Fernie Andrade’s skills with the tattoo machine. In addition, this significant piece is sure to become even more incredible once it’s healed. The photo above was taken right after the tattoo was done but we’ll have updated photos once it’s all healed up so you can see the difference.
The inspiration for this tattoo was based off of a animation/ cartoon drawing done by artist Tiago Hoisel. The artist, who was born in Brazil, has created some amazing caricatures of famous and non-famous people and characters and his work is simply incredible. About Keith Richards:
The English born musician, actor, songwriter and original member of The Rolling Stones, is simply legendary. Rolling Stone Magazine credits him as “rock’s greatest single body of riffs” on guitar and ranked him 4th on its list of 100 best guitarists. Fourteen of the songs that Richards wrote with the Rolling Stones’ lead vocalist Mick Jagger are listed among Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

Las Vegas has absolutely no shortage of tattoo artists, or tattoo shops. With hundreds of tattooists to choose from, there’s a huge selection of faces and places to choose from but we’re proud to staff some of the best artists in town. The creative geniuses on our staff deliver tattoos that are bar none some of the best not only in Vegas – but in the world – and the proof is in their portfolios.
The tattoo above, was done by resident SDT artist Fernie Andrade, and his work is some of the most sought after in the game. Typical booked months out, it is advised that you book far in advance and it comes as no surprise that his list continually gets longer. Fernie’s attention to detail and ability to seamlessly merge multiple images, makes him a world class artist and we’re proud to have him as part of the SDT Family.

The finest tattoos in Vegas.
The improvement and progress of any tattoo artist is based on the acceleration of his skill, not the years he has spent in the game. But if you’re into counting years, then Las Vegas tattoo artist Robert Pho, has over 25 years of practice tucked under his belt. In addition to countless features and interviews, Robert has amassed an incredible portfolio of work that has won the industry over. Needless to say, the evolution of his skill, his work and his dedication to tattoo culture is unreal and it all becomes evident in the delivery of his work and final product.
The latest religious piece you see here is actually a cover up, and it’s still in progress so we’ll keep you posted on any new updates. If your’e looking to see more of Robert’s work then you can visit his gallery by clicking here.

Here’s a few flicks from the Concours D’Elegance that went down two weeks ago in Monterey, CA.
A few months ago, a couple of the Skin Design Tattoo fam bam hit up the Greystone Mansion for their Concours D’Elegance, but no matter how quaint, close and attractive the event may have been, it was simply a precursor to the famed Monterey Car Week.
So what can one expect when you head to Monterey Car Week? Well, aside from the picturesque views, calm atmosphere and insane amount of cars, you can expect to shell out a ton of money even if you’re just a spectator. Now if you’re looking to buy your favorite classic whip, then come prepared with plenty of coin and the balls to bid.
The historic famed car week is anchored by the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance, and it’s a place where friends, family and car nuts converge. With nightly shindigs hosted by manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ducati and Pagani, it’s a week of non-stop action.
This year, we caravanned with the fellas bringing an assortment of exotics, but upon arrival, it was nothing short of sheer madness. Everything you could imagine was on display, and after visiting a few auctions the week ended with a total sales of at least $390 million – basically more than the GDP of most island nations.
The infamous Porsche 356. A nostalgic classic that’s worthy of being a tattoo if you’re a P-Car fan.
Ninja turtle Porsche 918 Spyder.
BC’s new whip.
The gas station takeover.
In all it was a great time, and we’re looking forward to debuting some new builds with our good friends next year. So what does this have to with tattooing or tattoos? Passion. The same passion we place into our art, is equally distributed into how we feel about cars, boats, wake boarding and family time and it’s yet another reminder that you should put passion into everything you cherish. Till next time…thanks for stopping by the site.

If you’re in or around the Los Angeles area be sure to stop by the Skin Design Tattoo booth at the upcoming Ink N Iron show which will be held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. It all goes down from June 12th to the 14th this upcoming weekend so don’t miss out! Catch a budget and break bread.
About Ink N Iron:
With the success of the 2003 Long Beach Tattoo Convention – the second to be held aboard the Queen Mary – it propelled Long Beach to a central position in the tattoo world. The 60,000 visitors that have come aboard the Queen Mary since then, sends a very clear message on the extent of the event which will be even better and more enthralling this year. It couldn’t be otherwise, considering that Long Beach was the tattoo cultural engine of the West Coast, the center around which technique and trends evolved. Long Beach was the home of Bert Grimm’s World Famous Tattoo, the longest operating tattoo shop in America 1927-2003. From this tiny shop on the Nu Pike in Long Beach Bert Grimm fostered a culture that influenced today’s godfathers of the American Tattoo industry; names like Ed Hardy, Bob Roberts, Lyle Tuttle, Col. Todd, Bob Shaw, and Phil Simms to name a few. Bert Grimm’s was a place where, if you knew the right guy you could obtain the most sacred of tools; the tattoo machine, these pieces of equipment were not available to just anyone.
In marrying the city’s tattoo history with a 1930’s luxury ship the Queen Mary, with her WWII service history, there couldn’t be a more perfect setting to perform this sacred art form. The idea of organizing a tattoo convention in Long Beach stems from the desire to pay a tribute to the great tattoo art tradition. This tradition contributed to spread this art all over the world, pulling it out of the Middle Ages. The best tattoo artists in the world and a series of additional events will make this 2015 festival a hit. There will be 280 artists from 25 States and 25 Countries representing all the tattoo styles pricking away with their machines in an exciting atmosphere, where a car show and music become an integral part of the event, mingling with the artistic expressions of the artists at work. This convention will be both a sort of art gallery and community festival. The tattoo booths will be located on the three floors of the Atrium Exhibit Hall aboard the ship which are very easy to access.
Tattoos can be a passion and an art form, for most people a very popular fashion trend, which exploded a few years ago thanks to advertisements, fashion and music bands which use tattoo icons for messages that underline the freedom of choice of each individual. This festival is an event that draws lots of different visitors, something very few events can boast. Many love tattoos and travel around the world to take part in tattoo conventions, because it is a time in which this art is experienced on one’s own skin and, it is difficult not to be affected by the unique atmosphere that makes tattoos a very familiar and easy form of art. Besides taking advantage of the festival to get a tattoo from a great artist, the organizers are very attentive to the entertainment of all those who chose to spend three days in the tattoo scenario – 3 stages will showcase the weekends bands, cabaret shows, tattoo contest, and pin-up pageant while the grounds are decorated with America’s finest Iron dressed in period perfect style. Tattoos will stand out not only on skin but also on canvases, paper and photos, through an exhibition able to give an enhanced artistic value to the exhibition.
This weekend’s fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather is just days away and the anticipation is insane. With oodles of money on the line, the $300 million which they’ll split is just the tip of it. Projected wagers are expected to be around $100 million which is what experts have claimed to be “Super Bowl sized dough” and this is jut the beginning.
Hundreds of millions will be spent on hotel rooms, wining, dining and clubbing and Vegas is going to turn into a wildfire of economic proportions. Tickets for this event alone have hit an all time high with a record ticket being sold for just under $41,000!
So who are you betting on?
Manny got a chance to see the tattoo and he then signed the piece. Shortly after the signature was also tattooed permanently.
Who are you voting for? Here’s a manny Pacquiao tattoo done by artist Robert Pho.
Nike filmed a short video that gives Pacman fans an inside look at him training as well as his thoughts on preparing mentally, physically and spiritually. He also talks about how he blocks out distraction and train his mind. It’s also a good video to learn from because it demonstrates that you have to do more than sit around to accomplish your goals. Talking with no action results in failure.
Have you ever heard about the champ that sat around and waited for handouts? Neither have we.
Here’s our favorite quote from the Manny,
You have to survive. You need to go through the hardwork before you get the crown. ~ M. Pacquiao.
