Zeus & Baby Dionysus
Tattoos, as with any art, have their themes and styles which change in trending ways. At one point, tribal tattoos were all the rage, and I remember a time when pit bulls were perhaps more common than lions. Yet throughout all the changes that we’ve seen, one thing remains certain, and that’s the fact that Greek culture and mythology will always remain a common denominator and a theme that will never go out of style.
There’s something engaging about Greek art. The lines, the simplicity, the ability to show off shading, gradients and shadows makes it a remarkable subject to tattoo and right above is a great example. In this latest piece by Fernie Andrade, he shows a great amount of detail in this portrait of Zeus holding baby Dionysus. It’s a great piece which is still fresh so we’ll have updated pictures once it all heals up.
