Zeus

Josiah, or Zeus as he is known, was born and raised in Waipahu, Hawaii. His father was an oil painter and charcoal artist who had Zeus and all of his siblings drawing from as early as 2 years old. He taught them everything he knew about drawing, and Zeus remained dedicated to the craft every day as he grew older.

He got into graffiti as he got older, until one day, when he was 11 years old, his brother came home with a fresh tattoo. He was so curious and amazed by the tattoo that he decided then and there that tattooing would be what he pursues in his career.

Zeus was denied an apprenticeship from 2 different studios at the age of 15, when his dad bought him his first tattoo machine. He continued to practice his drawing and lettering until he finally landed an apprenticeship at 19 years old.

“I love tattooing because I get to pour my heart and soul out through ink. I believe there’s a spiritual, and emotional connection between artist and client. Through the literal blood sweat and tears invested in each tattoo, as a result, a beautiful piece of art is created that lasts a lifetime.”
