ABOUT ROBERT PHO
As of late, the world has been producing some of the best tattoo artists we’ve ever seen, and for Robert Pho, the art of the tattoo has long been a way of life since 1989. With over 30 years of experience, Robert is the founder of Skin Design Tattoos – Las Vegas and now has opened up shops in Honolulu, Brooklyn, Orange County, and an additional studio within Las Vegas’ Caesar’s Palace. He is respected internationally as one of the finest black and gray tattoo artists in the world. Known best for his breath taking ability to do black and gray fine line work, gradient shading and intriguing portraits, his work is one which reflects the patience of his studies and continuing perfection of the art. A consummate student of the tattoo, Robert has utilized his career as an artist to raise the bar and set the standard for black and gray ink within the industry and culture. While his work speaks for itself, Robert counts himself as his greatest competitor. His painstaking attention to detail has filled shelves with awards and accolades and it has also landed him significant industry acclaim – all of which pales in comparison to the satisfaction he feels in delivering the best work possible to his clients.
With numerous awards and achievements under his belt, Robert has been published internationally and is recognized as one of the finest in the world of black and gray. The shop he created has become a hub of creativity and it’s staffed with some of the most inspiring and talented in the industry. In addition to being one of the largest studios in the Las Vegas area, it also happens to be one of the friendliest where everyone is treated like part of the family.
Robert is currently tattooing out of Hawai’i, but often travels around to tattoo out of each of the Skin Design locations, always remembering to return to his shop on Spring Mountain. If you’re ever in Nevada, be sure to stop by the Las Vegas tattoo shop and experience the 4,000+ sq. foot beauty that started this uproar.
Robert Pho Client Testimonials
FAMOUS TATTOO ARTIST ROBERT PHO
In addition to being an award-winning artist, Robert Pho is also known as an activist who has fought for – and represented – tattoo culture, garnering him even more respect among his peers within the tattoo community. After being road-blocked a few times from opening shops in North Carolina, he has been successful against battling city ordinances and naysayers who initially dismissed his attempts and declined his requests to open up shop. With unruly beginnings, he’s fought for everything he has achieved and in the end he still says, “This art saved my life, and so many others.” In addition, he believes that the industry is one which is finally being recognized and respected as it should be and he’s proud to see so many well accomplished artists changing . “This is a culture with deep roots, and we’re essentially story tellers who help people express themselves and it’s an honor to be trusted with their skin,” he further adds.
Robert’s passionate love for our culture, and our art, is more than skin deep. He’s been asked to speak at major medical conventions, given back to phentermine online, and when asked what he owes all his success to, he’ll tell you, “The tattoo machine. The tattoo machine gives all artists an equal playing field to begin with and how good we become as artists is up to us.”
With a slew of upcoming projects, the most anticipated would have to be his upcoming autobiography because he certainly has a story to tell.
ROBERT’S INFLUENCES
We asked Robert to name a few of the artists who have impacted and inspired him and his response was, “To mention just a few of the artists that have impacted my art (as well as my career) is a difficult one to do. With so many talented and truly inspirational artisans in the game, I’m sure that there are some I have failed to mention as well as many more.” That said, here’s a look at some of the artists that have influenced his career and please check back as the list continually expands.
